Alaska Soular Disc Journey
9th - 22nd June 2002
Alaska is one of the few remaining true wilderness areas on Earth and one of the most awesomely beautiful. From beyond the Arctic Circle to the Aleutian Islands, its Native peoples are gathered into large numbers of tribal communities, each with their own rich heritage. This unique heritage of Native wisdom is at risk and may not survive many more generations without support. Alaska's animal life too, both on land and on sea, is rich with shamanic relationship which exists as a strong bond between them and humans. In this primeval land we will journey on a spiritual pilgrimage to re-member our heritage as children of Gaia. In this natural haven we will have the opportunity to connect profoundly with our human, animal, devic and elemental brothers and sisters.
Our itinerary will take us from Anchorage into the wonderful Dinali National Park, with the sacred mountain of Dinali, the highest in North America, at its heart. We will visit native communities, cruise off shore with whales and dolphins and travel to celebrate the Summer Solstice at Akutan in the Aleutian Islands. These islands form a bridge between Asia and North America. Akutan lies on the point of this bridge where the Bering Sea actually meets the Pacific Ocean and stands astride the famous Ring of Fire, the meeting of Tectonic Plates which encircle the Pacific. It is the location for one of the twelve Soular Discs around the Earth, and it's landscape and hot springs hold powerful healing energies with which we will connect.
Our journey to Alaska is organised by John Buzenberg and Harmony Tours. John founded Harmony Tours with the goal that every journey they sponsor, brings greater clarity, greater feeling of connection with others and the Earth and greater feelings of expansion with All That Is.
John will join Jude in co-facilitating the Alaskan mainland part of our journey.We will be joined in Akutan by Renae Blanton. Renae was a participant on our first, Soular Disc journey to Egypt, in 2001 and is a resident of Homer, Alaska. She is a healer and her vision, combined with Jude's, located the Soular Disc at Akutan.
