Dear friend,
We are now at the time of the March Equinox - a time of balance between light and shadow.
These transformational times of the Shift are calling each of us with compassion and courage to work to balance and reconcile the polarities through which we experience our lives. And in doing so, both on personal and collective levels to re-soulve and transcend them.
I have just experienced such polarities of light and shadow on a profound level. For, only a few weeks after the Israeli attack on Gaza, I have just returned from an amazing, inspiring, distressing and intense journey to Israel, the West Bank and Jordan. As our small group saw the deep schisms that have separated peoples for so long, still playing out on a daily basis, we also attuned and prayed as so many are doing for authentic peace, real justice and true reconciliation to be attained.
And as I'll explain in the section on Soular Astrology below, this year with Venus retrograde from early March until mid April, we also have her cosmic support to find inner balance in the way we perceive and experience our relationships with ourselves, each other and the wide world
The Bigger Picture
On a deeper level, the ongoing situation in Israel is a microcosm of a metaphysical wound in our collective psyche.
Four thousand years ago, the Bible describes how Abraham and his family journeyed from their ancestral homeland into the land of the Canaanites. A thousand years later his descendants waged a war of conquest, and for the next millennium - other than for the two generations exiled to Babylon (now Iraq) and freed to return by the Persians ( now Iran) - the Hebrews occupied the land that had been Canaan and that they now named Israel.
But after occupation by the Romans and then the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple, the Hebrews were once again exiled, only to return - nearly a further two thousand years later - when the state of Israel was formed in 1948.
And again, the Canaanite/Palestinian people who were living here were driven away - this time into enclaves and refugee camps in Gaza and the West Bank with millions of people also seeking refuge over the border into Jordan and elsewhere.
After a further war of 1967, the Israeli state expanded the land it holds and whilst still deemed unlawful by the UN continues to occupy these territories and to build and extend settlements there.
The Palestinian response after many years of submission, increasing despair and little active support by the international community, turned to deep anger and increasing violence. After the horrors of the Holocaust the Israelis were in no frame of mind to submit to such intimidation and met it with an increasingly disproportionate response that has culminated in literally hundreds of checkpoints in the occupied territories, the ongoing building of huge ‘security' walls around Palestinian towns and the blockade and recent overwhelming attack on Gaza - an action that killed at least 1300 Palestinians (including hundreds of women and children) with the loss of 13 Israeli lives.
The occupation/blockade cements the fear of Israelis and the despair and rage of Palestinians. The Bible and Islamic tradition trace the Judaic line from Isaac and the Islamic/Arabic line from Ishmael, both sons of Abraham. So after four thousand years, the ‘sons' of Abraham are both literally and emotionally killing each other - in a conflict that ultimately neither can win through violence, conquest and subjugation.
But throughout the Middle East, as we found on our journey talking to many ‘ordinary' people caught up in this extraordinary tragedy, the ongoing schism is not primarily about the difference in belief between Jews and Moslems - but far more about actions.
Just as in our personal lives, the expansion of our collective awareness that is the Shift can now offer us a deeper perspective on the Middle East. The patterns we play out personally, we also holographically play out on group and collective levels.
Just as to reach balance on a personal level requires our honesty, openness and compassion, so must we acknowledge the need to do this if we are to re-soulve the situation in the Middle East.
Renunciation of violence by both Israel and the Palestinians is key.
To have an open, honest debate, voices that have so far been stifled now need to be heard. Disagreement with Israeli policy and actions should not call forward automatic and often false accusations of anti- Semitism as they so often currently do.
And authentic recognition and mutual respect by both sides of the equality and rights of the other is crucial to any sustainable re-soulution.
In the past the perception by the Nazis of the Jewish peoples as somehow lesser, unleashed the unimaginable horror of the Holocaust. But tragically, now - as we were told time and again during our journey - the situation is reversed and many Israelis see the Palestinians and their rights and needs as being lesser - and so justify .the asymmetry of occupation and aggression.
For our human family to be at peace, this wound in our collective psyche needs to be healed. With the energies and awareness of the Shift, we can together support the transformation of the Holy Land and help Jerusalem fulfill the promise of its name - Ur-Salem, the City of Peace.

Soular Astrology
My whole-hearted thanks to all of you who attuned your highest intention during the Aquarian alignment of 14th February. We estimate that at least one million people around the world attuned their highest intention for the dawning of the Age of Aquarius supported by the cosmic energies of this wonderful communion of planetary bodies. Tony and I were at Avebury for the alignment. A few minutes afterwards as we looked back at the Cove, where in the heart of Avebury the telluric energies of the Michael and Mary line come together, the rising Sun burnished the tops of the two ancient stone sentinels with golden light.
Over the coming three months, there are a number of astrological influences that I feel are especially significant.
The first is that Venus went retrograde on 6th March and will remain so until 17th April. This energetically offers us an opportunity to pause and review relationships 9both with ourselves and others), reappraise and deepen our sense of values and progress the healing of emotional wounds and traumas. By attuning in the unity awareness of the universal heart, rather than through ego-based perception, this is a powerful time to reconcile and re-soulve issues that we may have been unwilling to acknowledge or deal with.
Then the conjunction of Venus and Mars on 21st April then offers us the creativity and energy to begin to live a new vision based on the inner healing we have accomplished through the retrograde gift of Venus.
Pluto, the archetypal planet of transformation turns retrograde from 4th April to 11th September offering us a powerful stimulus to a greater understanding of subconscious patterns and impulses that no longer serve us. In seeing much deeper we can investigate and release the causes of old traumas and schisms and as we do so our powers of regeneration and renewal will be substantially enhanced during this time.
Over the past months and continuing for awhile, Saturn has also been instrumental in teaching us important lessons. His ongoing inter-relationships with Neptune and Pluto are part of a larger scheme of astrological influence that is offering us all the opportunity to obtain crucial insights and reach a higher level of balance and wholeness through challenge. By acknowledging his gifts of perseverance, responsibility, and discipline we can work co-creatively with the flow of our experiences through this transformational time.
By mid-May, this cycle of his influence will be complete. The lessons we have learned will be shown by the loving wisdom we give to experiences and events through the summer months, with the awareness gained being integrated by early autumn.
As we deepen our understanding we will become progressively questioning of unsustainable and inauthentic situations and patterns. The energy of new vision supported by Venus and Mars will call us ever further into wholeness and support us in an ever greater empowerment in the universal heart. Saturn's grounding combined with Venus emotional and spiritual maturity will continue to guide our path of integrating the ‘ordinary' and ‘extraordinary' aspects of our evolving human destiny.
Beginning in May will reveal how well we're learning the personal and collective lessons supported by Saturn and we will have clearer and more profound understanding of what we value and the vision we are prepared to work for and towards - and conversely what can now be released.

Sacred journey to Malta hosted by the Prophets Conference 22nd to 29th May 2009
The tiny island trinity of Malta and its two companions Gozo and Comino, lying in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, have been a cross roads of people and ideas for at least six thousand years. The spiritual and cultural imprints of Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and Byzantines amongst many others have created a rich tapestry of history for us to explore. And in the sixteenth century Malta became the headquarters of the Knights of St John weaving another important thread, through their connections with the Holy Land and the Knights Templar.
But the most magnificent monuments to Malta's millennia long story, are the most ancient and most mysterious - a mighty collection of megalithic temples that have stood against the ravages of time. Aligned to the Sun and Moon archaeologists currently assume that they were constructed in the early Neolithic period around five and a half thousand years ago. But there is no real archaeological evidence to sustain this view and intriguing pointers from their astronomical alignments and recent underwater discoveries that these monolithic temples may be much, much older.
For the rising of sea levels following the end of the last Ice Age around 13,000 years ago caused Malta and its companions to become islands and before that they were upland areas of an extensive land bridge that connected them to Sicily and Italy to the north. In the coastal waters around the islands there have been exciting discoveries of what may be the ruins of other temples, now underwater.
During our sacred journey we will delve deeply into these ancient mysteries and explore our hidden heritage that is now being revealed in these momentous times. We will experience the presence of both the divine feminine and masculine in places of power that continue to revere their cosmic partnership. And through their energetic balance we will invite the co-creative presence of the divine child to be energetically embodied within ourselves.
The most profound spiritual traditions of ancient times perceived the manifest world, at all scales of existence as being generated and pervaded by a cosmic trinity of active, passive and neutral principles - the divine essence of the masculine, feminine and child. The Vedic sages of ancient India saw the male/active life-force energy they called the pingala and the female/passive energy they called the ida weaving around and through our chakras and the child/neutral energy they called the shushumna as channeling up through them.
When these divine masculine and feminine energies are balanced and so able to fully ‘birth' the divine child energies within us, the ancient sages saw the so-called kundalini energy that otherwise lies dormant at the base of the spine, surge through us enabling us to fully embody our divine nature.
The purpose of the sacred marriage between the divine feminine and masculine that the ancient peoples, such as those of Malta, enacted in their temples was thus not only to bring cosmic harmony and fertility to their land but within themselves. For such balance enables the energetic activation or ‘birth' of the divine child within us and the attainment of enlightenment.
When this cosmic trinity of consciousness is harmonized and fully expressed within us, we are truly ‘healed' and ‘whole' as embodied by the universal symbol of the caduceus as a representation of healing from earliest times.
For millennia, only the highest adepts understood and have attained such wholeness. But elders and mystics around the world are saying that now is the time, when we have evolved to a point where we are all able to access the universal heart of unity awareness and awaken our inner divinity.
This is our spiritual destiny at the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
In our sacred journey to Malta we will join our voices to those of our ancestors and all the peacemakers throughout the millennia that hoped for and sought to co-create Heaven on Mother Earth. Their intentions and hard work kept the possibility of this vision alive. And in our time, we have the opportunity to realize their dreams and ours and enable a HoMecoming for us all!

Spring
As I sit in my study writing this newsletter, the gentle sunshine, golden glow of daffodils and birdsong is heralding Spring.
Rather than trying to cling on to the winter of old and limiting paradigms and outdated patterns of behavior, let's now spring together and plant seeds of a new vision that as the light grows, will in their perfect way and time, flower with beauty and abundance.
